This site allows customers to send in their gold and then receive an offer for the gold's worth. The customer can then accept the offer and receive a check, or decline and the gold is returned. Customers are also able to order party kits so they can make money from throwing a party and getting referrals.
Included in this system is a back end which allows staff to manage and interact with all orders and customers, and update the customers on the status of the process. There is also an email system to send out the appropriate email to the customer.
The site is integrated with the FedEx shipment API so customers can print labels as soon as the gold kit is requested. They are able to send the gold in immediately and have it evaluated. I also integrated Facebox (similar to the popular Lightbox), which allows JavaScript pop ups with videos and images.
I was hired by Pixel Driven Media to finish this project for their client after the original developer became seriously ill and was not able to finish the project. The site was built on top of open source ecommerce software with heavy modifications to several parts of the system.
