The Rad Report

The Rad Report is a gossip blog that I've done some updates to and some expansions on. I built a store for it, and set it up to be more expansible, so that it can support multiple authors. I haven't done a whole lot on it, but the additions that I've made to it have cleaned it up a bit.

The Rad Report is a great example of me working on a live site and keeping everything running smoothly, even while making feature additions. This site gets around 1000 hits a day (I think), so it was important that I work on it seamlessly. Once everything was fully tested on the live site, I turned the features on in the middle of the night, so it would affect only a few users.

There are still some things that I hope to be able to do on it, mostly optimization and SEO. There are a few small fixes I could do to decrease load times and make the page sizes smaller. At the time of this writing, the avatar functionality I built isn't turned on, but there is also a feature I built for later to show an avatar for the user that wrote the post.
